Okinawa YWCA Letter of Protest against the Incidents of Object Fall from US Large Transport Helicopter CH53E belonging to Futenma Air Base

Okinawa YWCA has issued a statement protesting the recent incidents in which objects repeatedly fell from U.;S. helicopters onto schools, posing life-risking danger on children and indicating lack of respect for the lives of people in Okinawa. The YWCA of Japan fully supports this statement.

    The YWCA of Japan has signed on to the letter by the “Women and Gender Constituency”, voicing concern over the nuclear lobby during COP23 (Novemver 20, 2017)

    The 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP23, was held in Bonn, Germany, from 6th to 18th November, 2017.
    The YWCA of Japan has signed on to the letter by the “Women and Gender Constituency”, voicing concern over the nuclear lobby during the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP23, was held in Bonn, Germany, from 6th to 18th November, 2017.
    The letter points out that institutions and organizations promoting nuclear power have been allowed to engage in lobbying activities including exhibition booths, under the guise of “grassroots initiative”, and requests the presidency and secretariat of COP 23 to avoid the same happening in future conferences.
