Young Women’s Views on Climate and Disaster from Japan

[March 16 EDT 6AM: Parallel Event at CSW66]

The YWCA of Japan is hosting a CSW66 parallel event “Young Women’s Views on Climate and Disaster from Japan”, where young women share their experiences and views surrounding disaster response, climate and gender issues. Please join us online!

Event details:
This parallel event will discuss the situation surrounding climate change and disaster response, through the viewpoint of young women in Japan.
The global climate crisis, as well as resulting disasters, reflects the injustice between regions/nations/ generation/ genders, as women and young women are disproportionately affected while the cause of the disaster is mostly created by the industrialized world and those in power. We strongly feel that young women’s roles are vital in bringing about change to this situation.
