CSW 68 Parallel Event- The life stories of disempowered young women: hardship and leadershipin Japan

The YWCA of Japan is holding an in-person parallel event in the coming CSW 68 in New York.

  • Date: 13th March 2024 at 2:30pm (EST)
  • Place: CCUN Drew
  • Title: The life stories of disempowered young women: hardship and leadership in Japan

In the format of a panel discussion, seven young Japanese women from the YWCA will candidly share their real-life experiences within a social context where the patriarchal system remains influential. The panelists will articulate the challenges faced by Japanese women in their daily lives, addressing issues like sexual victimization and the absence of comprehensive sex education in Japan. Furthermore, they will delve into strategies for navigating and leading amidst such challenges in their unique ways.
Following the panel discussion, participants will break into smaller groups to explore individual topics in more depth.

We look forward to seeing you there!
