Condemnation on the brutal attack and violence on the Palestinians November 27, 2008

YWCA of Japan strongly condemns the brutal and inhuman attack on Mr. Majdi Husseini and Mr. Khaled Jamal Al Husseini by a group of Israeli in the early morning of October 19th in Palestine.

According to the local paper and the report by YWCA of Palestine, several injuries and bruises remained all over Majdi’s body and his face slightly malformed due to constant beating.

Furthermore, intervening such attack and assault were to be police’s duty and responsibility, however, the police at the site did not stop the attack, which was not acceptable. Due to this fact, the responsibility is on the Government of Israel and we, YWCA of Japan, strongly condemn the Government of Israel for this case.

The YWCA of Japan, an international NGO with a network of women in 125 countries throughout the world, has been working with global solidarity for peace-building in Middle-East and has been keeping special attention to women and girls in this area and supporting them through YWCA of Palestine. We object to Israel’s occupation of Palestine, rage against the authority’s unjust attack and inhuman violence and assault on Palestinians, protest against its continuing violation of human rights of Palestinians which is to be protected, and we, YWCA of Japan, strongly demand the Government of Israel the following:

1. Inquire into the true state of brutal and inhuman attack on Mr. Majdi Husseini, the YWCA of Palestine staff, and Mr. Khaled Jamal Al Husseini. Upon the inquiry, take the measure to stop such acts and apologize to Mr. Majdi Husseini and Mr. Khaled Jamal Al Husseini.
2. Stop occupation of Palestine, respect and protect dignity and human rights of people of Palestine who are exposed to inhuman and immoral violence in the land.
